Position: Technical Assistant lll
Location: Knoxville, TN

Job Summary:

Provides assistance to deliver customer requests and execute deliverables. Supports other R&D program staff by creating, gathering, monitoring, analyzing and organizing technical, financial, and contractual information.

Job Description:
•Develops and implements processes to maintain centralized files containing technical information (statements of work and amendments) and financial information (commitments and expenditures)
•Works with EPRI customers to help access to and derive value from Program capabilities
•Develops and maintains technical literature and other information resources and data for the program
•Manages the planning, preparation and organization of training classes, conferences and workshops
•Assists in document preparation for bids and proposals, agreements and contracts
•Provides support in preparation of technical reports, presentations and other materials for training classes, meetings, publications, conferences and workshops
•Assists other R&D program staff by interacting with contractors and customers
•Establishes and maintains processes that ease the transfer of technology to customers
•May provide oversight and training to other staff


•AA degree in a scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•5-7 years of experience in an administrative or technical support report role
•Capability to handle administrative support role (word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation graphics, etc.)
•A general understanding of the conduct of research projects from the definition phase through to results delivery and application
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Demonstrated strong ability to identify, analyze, and negotiate and problem solve
•Capability of performing multiple and complex tasks with limited direction, while having the judgment to know when to ask for directions
•Understanding of the responsibilities associated with protecting information including trade secrets, confidential data, and proprietary information
•Proven ability to prioritize, allocate, and manage time and budget for assigned tasks

Ideal Candidate:
•Knowledge of AC and/or DC electric power systems and/or power electronics and related fields of study (power distribution, energy storage, power conditioning, emergency power, renewable energy, energy efficiency, thermal energy management, and power protection).
•Ability to update and maintain computer information systems (e.g. operating system patches and antivirus definitions).
•Ability to assists other R&D program staff with accessing and transferring data to and from computer information systems
•Strong computer administration skills, including password and file management, and familiarity with Windows Group Policy
•To be eligible, candidates must have an active national security clearance or debriefed within the last 24 months. Minimum clearance is Top Secret (TS). TS with CI polygraph is preferred.



EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
