This position is responsible to provide proactive recruitment leadership and support for the hiring of employees represented by Collective Bargaining Agreements. The Talent Acquisition Specialist-NE Union Recruiting is the subject matter expert for union recruiting and serves as a “relationship manager” to provide hands-on full life cycle recruitment for managing the internal bid process for Union Roles in New England. This position will be responsible to deliver consistent recruiting process and service for represented positions.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Develop strong relationships with the business in order to forecast recruitment needs and volume demand. Work closely with the Labor Directors and Managers identify new opportunities to add value to the organization; help HR colleagues with ad hoc projects (as and where needed). Drive results utilizing metrics (i.e., time to fill, testing, retention) Manage the Talent Acquisition process and life-cycle, including initial screening, testing (in conjunction with testing specialists) interviews, and offers. Also counsel the candidate on benefits (as guided by CBAs), salary, and corporate environment. Provide selection and assessment expertise to business Collaborate with hiring managers. Utilize an applicant tracking system to post positions, manage candidates, develop reports, and maintain all recruitment data. Maintain and monitor applicant tracking systems in order to keep applicant data up to date Develop, lead and manage the daily activity and results of team of Talent Acquisition Specialists and contract specialists. Participate in new hire orientations and on-boarding activities, as needed.
Knowledge & Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree or Greater experience required; concentration in HR or business administration preferred. Minimum of 5+ years professional experience preferred with a track record of success in a high volume, fast paced corporate environment in Union or represented employee experience required. Experience recruiting both non-exempt and exempt personnel, preferred. Capable of analyzing collective bargaining agreements to ensure recruitment practices align with intent, spirit and terms of contract. Outstanding client service orientation and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of management in a matrix environment. Experience leading recruiting initiatives and successfully leading projects that yielded positive results. Must be a self-starter, strong team player; and possess strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality. Prior experience with a web based applicant tracking system. Proven aptitude to think strategically, identify creative solutions and execute in a changing professional environment. Strong PC skills, proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Capability Requirements: Demonstrates the ability to identify and establishes the facts and solutions by researching and analyzing various sourcing channels, asking probing questions and challenging initial responses from different sources in order to seek relevant information. Ability to adapt approach and consider what is important to the audience by tailoring message accordingly in order to source talent and promote the National Grid brand. Actively builds and maintains a network of relationships internally and externally in order to promote the National Grid Brand. Promotes team effectiveness by soliciting input from team members, communicating expectations of the team and delegating responsibilities while providing support and structure. Is receptive to change and is willing to change ideas or opinions based on new information or contrary evidence.
