UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) is a global leader in the design and manufacture of a variety of aerospace products.

As a highly motivated and results driven engineering leader for our Sensors & Integrated Systems (SIS) division, you will be called upon to manage and develop the systems and project engineering team to meet customer expectations and cost/schedule performance goals. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the proposal process to develop and review cost estimates, schedules and proposals packages where engineering resources are required
  • Develop and implement Engineering best practices, processes and procedures within the Standard Work framework.
  • Implement and support Standard Work processes across all applicable development programs to deliver consistent results.
  • Work collaboratively with other Engineering disciplines, Programs, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to achieve optimal design solutions and project execution.Work closely with Program Managers and Program Chiefs to ensure customer satisfaction through careful planning, staffing and execution of projects.
  • Plan and coordinate the usage of IPD team resources by internal customers to meet program cost and schedule objectives within the framework of Standard Work.
  • Develop and implement methods to effectively utilize domestic and foreign outsourced labor to achieve business unit goals.
Qualifications Experience in the following is preferred:
  • All phases of the design and development process from inception to completion
  • Overseeing and coordinating the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines
  • Liaison between program management and planning, project teams and line management
  • Logical and systematic conversion of program requirements into a total project plan which integrates technical risks, schedule and cost constraints as well as customer expectations.
  • Coordination of the preparation of proposals, project management plans, project work statements and specifications, project schedules and budgets.
  • Risk management and assessment process
  • System and Software Development Process methodology
  • Applicable industry standards such as DO-178B/C and DO-160
  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical Aerospace Engineering w/ 10+ years of related experience.
  • MA/MS degree in Engineering Management or Business w/7+ years of related experience
