The Survivability Discipline Group is currently seeking a Ballistic Vulnerability Engineer to join a team of Vulnerability Engineers working in a collaborative environment with Program Management, Design CIPTs/IPTs, Customers, and Government Agencies to ensure the propulsion systems are survivable in man-made hostile environments. The Ballistic Vulnerability Engineer will have the responsibility of supporting the product development cycle that include requirements development, ballistic vulnerability analyses, requirements verification, and live fire testing. Responsibilities include working closely with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Customers, and Government Agencies to minimize Weapon Systems vulnerability requirements and to incorporate vulnerability reduction features and risk mitigation. Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure compliance activities are executed to Pratt & Whitney and Industry Methods and Approaches.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the ballistic survivability requirements to ensure ballistic specifications compliance. The Ballistic Vulnerability Engineer is expected to have an understanding of the ballistic threats and damage mechanisms and working experience with the FASTGEN and COVART modeling codes. Responsibilities of the Ballistic Vulnerability Engineer include the development of the propulsion systems ballistic target models, Pcd/h table development, generate run files, perform analytical simulation, interpretation of the results, and perform trade studies of survivability enhancement features. The candidate will also be required to support the Government to execute a Live Fire Test program to ensure the propulsion systems are survivable under real threat environments. This includes coordinating with external customers and Government counterparts to support test planning and reporting.
