The Pratt & Whitney team is responsible for working closely with suppliers, partners, internal engine centers across the globe to ensure the delivery of affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. Our team fosters an internal environment that thrives on utilization of the UTC ACE operating system, while coaching and supporting suppliers to ensure they meet our TAT, KPI metrics, and achieve success in their lean journey. Other responsibilities of the organization include driving on-time delivery, supplier health assessment, quality, TAT escalation processes for the entire aftermarket supply chain value stream. This role will support legacy and GTF performance.

The Supplier Development Lead will be responsible to set up this brand new department. The candidate will have to establish the organization, own Accenture support, OTD data, reporting, escalation processes and supplier capacity. The position is also key to assist suppliers on achieving gold level performance. The candidate function would involve setting up the organization to also provide training and coaching for new suppliers. Ability to assess cell design, capacity assessment, equipment maintenance, EH&S issues, and shop cleanliness. Supplier performance also works to improve the relationship between Pratt & Whitney and the supplier by improving the communications, minimizing the number of outside visits, catalyst for additional business opportunities, and reducing financial risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments of the suppliers capability to perform and sustain performance through the SHA (Supplier Health Assessment)
  • Engage with the supplier to develop action plan (SCIP) to close the gaps between current state and gold level performance.
  • Track SCIP and drive closure to reach gold level.
  • Conduct training and coaching on-site at the supplier to develop their team
  • Follow-up with the commodity management and account management on any turnbacks or supplier performance.
  • Establish leading indicators of performance and track weekly, on-site at supplier
  • Intervene as required to expedite deliveries and/or resolve quality issues
  • Travel 20% to 30%
