Hot Section Engineering (HSE) at Pratt & Whitney is looking for an experienced, highly-motivated and talented individual for the role of Hot Section Structures Manager for F135 Exhaust Systems. The Hot Section Structures Manager is an integral part of the HSE leadership team and serves as the direct line supervisor for a team of ~10 structures engineers. This Structures Manager position supports one or more military, commercial, industrial, and APU Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs). As part of the CIPT Leadership team, the structures manager ensures technical excellence, task execution and supports manpower planning. There are also requirements for advancing the structures discipline, process and ESW improvement, talent development and mentorship of the less experienced engineers, and outsourcing oversight. Excellent communication skills are highly desirable to work across the various levels of the organization from Program Chief Engineers, to recent hires into the organization. The Hot Section Structures Discipline Manager is a challenging and visible leadership position for the right individual. It is also an excellent opportunity to directly contribute to the successes of HSE and P&W working with a broad range of customers and in finding solutions to difficult problems.


Qualification: B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other applied engineering undergraduate curriculum is the minimum requirement for this position. A supplemental degree in business (i.e. MBA) may benefit the candidate with an understanding of project and/or organizational management.

Candidates are required to have a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant industrial experience. Excellent communication skills are essential. Demonstrated leadership in the candidate’s current and past roles is expected. Prior
supervisory experience and the ability to attain security clearance would benefit the candidate.
