We have an immediate opening for a Stress Engineer.

The successful candidate will learn to develop internal loads and perform static strength and fatigue analyses of Landing Gear and Systems components using both computer modeling analysis methods and classical calculation methods while working within an integrated product development team reporting to the stress lead. The candidate will rely on a
strong engineering foundation with emphasis on design principles and strength of materials.

Perform strength, stability, residual strength, fatigue, damage tolerance and fracture analyses of detail designs of landing gear structural components using both computer modeling analysis methods and classical calculation methods.
Prepare detailed stress reports.
Review drawings/models of landing gear components with other company disciplines and provide structures input and analysis.
Analyze structural repairs for landing gear and flight control structural components.
Review test results and correlate with analytical models.
Evaluate test results that may impact the design or require a design improvement.
Support the preliminary sizing activities and stress analysis for trade studies.
Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills. US citizen, permanent resident alien or able to review all export-controlled technical information.
Ability to analyze structural designs using computing tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, ABAQUS.
Good understanding of engineering drawings.
Proficient in using CAD tools such as CATIA V5 or NX.
Good understanding of material mechanical properties: stress strain curve, fatigue properties
Good understanding of static strength analysis: free-body-diagrams, Mohr’s circle, shear-moment diagrams.
Good understanding of fatigue analysis methodology.
Open minded, pro-active, quick learning ability and strong desire to learn.
Education BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
