Job Details

The Staff Rotating Engineer manages consulting or technical projects including the development of proposals, client interaction, coordinating resources, and scheduling consulting and/or development projects.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates and applies knowledge of fundamental engineering principals and advanced problem solving.
  • Demonstrates and applies knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.

  • Demonstrates and applies knowledge and skills in evaluation, design, repair, and optimization of rotating equipment and machinery.

  • Demonstrates capability and desire to provide frequent field support for client needs.

  • Willingness to travel 25% to 50% of the time.

  • Demonstrates capability to effectively work with subject matter experts to provide consulting services related to life optimization and risk management associated with all phases of rotating equipment and machinery life cycle process.  Examples include:
    • Troubleshooting and optimization of pump performance issues

    • Rotating equipment and machinery vibration (and attached piping) evaluation

    • Risk Based Machinery Management (API 691) with “Condition Monitoring”

    • Training (operating, troubleshooting, optimizing, etc.)

    • Capital projects support (equipment specification, shop inspection, performance testing, installation, startup and commissioning) including shop inspections, materials selection, etc.)

    • Performance monitoring and establishing IOW’s for efficient and reliable machinery operation

    • Mechanical Audits (processes, procedures, training, etc. – similar to E2G FERMI)

    • Machinery Best Practices and Standards

    • Machinery Root Cause Failure Analysis

    • Machinery overhaul support – technical direction

  • Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program; or seven plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Credit will be provided for level advancement based on years of experience and any advanced degrees.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Certified Professional Engineer (PE). Member of professional practice organization (e.g., ASME, API, NACE), National Board member or officer, national technical or policy committee member.
