Pratt and Whitney, a subsidiary of UTC, is a world leader in the design, manufacture and support of engines for commercial, military and regional aircrafts.

The Pratt & Whitney Aero Thermal Fluids is looking for experienced aero thermal engineers.
Job responsibilities include ing the latest tools in the aero thermal analysis, design, and validation of internal air systems. Strong heat transfer background with experience in modeling complex rotating flow fields is desired. A working knowledge of CFD design tools is required to provide a fundamental understanding of flow fields in coupled rotating systems but also to inform system level network solvers with more robust loss characteristics and thermal models with more representative boundary conditions.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in internal air system or turbo machinery thermal analysis, design, and validationor 3 years of experience in internal air system or turbo machinery thermal analysis, design, and validation with a PHD in lieu of 6 years of experience with a bachelors degree
  • Strong background in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and modeling of rotating flow systems required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or PhD preferred
  • CFD user experience is preferred
Education
  • Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Masters Degree or PhD preferred
