Kidde Aerospace and Defense, a part of UTC Aerospace Systems, is the world’s largest supplier of aircraft and armored vehicle fire and overheat protection systems with equipment on a majority of the world’s commercial and military fleets. We design and manufacture electronic controls, sensors, suppression bottles, and fast acting valves at our facilities in the U.S. and Europe.

We are currently looking for a talented engineering professional to add to our team at our Wilson, NC facility.

In this role, you will participate in the design, transition to manufacturing, and sustaining support of digital and analog electronic circuits. Experience with aircraft electrical systems is a plus as is knowledge of SMT components and Cadence design tools. Specific tasks include requirements analysis, parts selection, schematic capture, worst case circuit analysis, EMI testing, and analysis of manufacturing processes and field returns associated with the entire product line. Occasional travel will be required.

  • 5 + years of related experience desired within a high tech manufacturing environment
  • Applicant must have a working knowledge of embedded microcontroller design and testing, and schematic capture and circuit analysis software
  • Applicant must be able to analyze and conduct engineering investigations on electronic products.
  • Applicant must have good written and verbal communications skills to support documentation preparation and presentations to customers.-
  • Experience with op-amp filter design, switching power supply design, component derating analysis
  • Experience with DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704 standards would be preferred but not mandated

U.S. citizen or U.S. resident required

  • BSEE required
