Experienced engineer will perform the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of advanced turbine components including Turbine Airfoils. The Design Engineer will be a key member of at least one multidisciplinary Integrated Product Team (IPT) working on turbine components featuring advanced castings and high temperature materials. The Design Engineer shall function as the chief engineer of the component design on which they are working. As such, the Design Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the part meets life, weight, cost, and producibility requirements. The Design Engineer is also involved with the validation of the part design via various component and engine tests. The Design Engineer in this position will interact with multiple internal and external customers as well as suppliers.

Qualified candidates must possess good communication and problem solving skills. A solid foundation in mechanical design is required. Qualified candidates must be experienced CAD package users. Understanding of gas turbine engine systems disciplines is highly desired. To ensure robust turbine component designs, the candidate will be responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement of internal design processes.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Execution of the various phases of complex turbine component design.

  • Lead turbine component design trade studies.

  • Integration and balancing of requirements of supporting disciplines (aero, performance, structures, durability/heat transfer, manufacturing, assembly, etc).

  • Ensure robust design validation testing.

  • Utilize continuous improvement tools in everyday work to meet product requirements.


A minimum of 3 years of related design engineering experience is required.

U.S. citizenship required.


A qualified candidate must have a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, or related discipline.
