UTC Aerospace Systems – Aerostructures, one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Engineer, Quality Engineering at our Riverside, CA facility.

Job Description:

The Sr. Engineer, Quality Engineering will provide expertise between the organization and its customers to proactively assure that their quality needs and expectations are understood and satisfied. Provide support to the Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data. Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools and methods. Execute the initiatives of the organization in the development, implementation and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management systems throughout the operation. Develop, implement and auditing of inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures / work instructions. Facilitate the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems and follow-up on corrective actions. Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process performance and to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas of the organization. Provide support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions, and process audits with the objective of improving the process performance and capability. Participate in all aspects of product development and launch activities through the organization to help ensure quality goals are met on new nacelle development programs.

  • Has in depth knowledge of the discipline and role.
  • In charge of the Quality Clinic

Required Skills:

•Experience with QA systems such as AS9100,ISO, Conducting Audits, Being able to manage Rejection Tags and Corrective Action is a requirement
Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspections (FAI) is also a requirement.
•Self motivated with a passion for QA and proven problem solving ability.
•Strong PC skills with proficiency in the following MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project or project Management Software.
All qualified applications must have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, kneel, and lift up to 40 lbs. as needed throughout the day.
• Must be able to wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment to work with chemicals.
• All applicants must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be at least 18 years if age or older.
• Due to ITAR, all applicants must be a US Citizen or a current Green Card holder.

Preferred Skills:

- Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Production System) experience.
- SAP and Team Center knowledge a plus.
- CATIA V5 experience.

-Six sigma experience or LEAN, knowledge of Lean Product Development (LPD) and Continuous Improvement (CI) is preferred but not required; including experience working within an environment that embraces the daily use of these tools. Enhance and support teamwork.
- CAD software experience: Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro-E or CATIA is preferred but not required.


BS Engineering degree in relevant field w/4-7+ years experience
MS Engineering degree in relevant field w/2-5+ years experience
