UTC Aerospace Systems, a leader in the design and manufacturing of sensor and precision instrumentation for commercial, military, and regional and business jet aircraft worldwide, has an immediate opening for an Electrical Design Engineer in the Product Support Engineering Group.

The Product Support Engineering group is a combined group that interfaces with all products and is responsible for in-service support of products in production, Scrap/Rework/Repair Reduction, Value Engineering, Obsolescence, and Product Safety. Product applications will include Video Surveillance Systems, Flight Displays, Video Servers, and Electronic Flight Bags, Air Data Computers, Ice Detectors, and Angle of Attack line replaceable units. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with engineers, operations, quality, and external customers to achieve optimal design solutions which meet requirements while minimizing overall life cycle costs. The candidate should be experienced in all phases of the design and manufacturing process, enjoy solving complex problems, and be able to define and prioritize work for a team under dynamic conditions.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Design, document, test and perform other hardware related activities.

- Support members of various engineering teams. (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Systems, and Manufacturing)

- Participate in team coordination meetings.

- Interact with internal and external customers.

- Develop solutions to problems with increasing scope and complexity.

- Contribute to the improvement of design processes and create standard work instructions as needed.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Must possess solid analytical and technical skills.
  • Requires communication skills and interpersonal savvy, including ability to work well in a team environment and interface with external customers.
  • Requires self-motivation and effective time management skills.
  • Solid skills in Electrical Engineering design tools such as Cadence or similar, Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
  • Internship experience is preferred.

Education: Requires a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from and accredited University
