This is a Repair Design Engineer(RDE) position within the GSE Commercial repair group. Specifically, within the CCCE repair Sector (Cases, Combustors, Composites & Externals). Global Services Engineering (GSE).
The RDE position is responsible for working program, project and customer driven engine component repair design tasks. This position is key to processing repair tasks and identifying roadblocks / solutions.

Other responsibilities:
  • Lead a multi-discipline IPT to establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements of the OEM parts.
  • Research operating environments and functionality of components, their interactions with mating parts, and develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.
  • Create technical documents that provide engineering requirements for repairs.
  • Interface with commercial product line management (PLM) to secure priorities and understand programmatic issues.
  • Work with multiple outsource service providers and Manage the flow of information and task approvals.
  • This is an IPT team member expected to be a supporter of the team process and a strong individual contributor.
  • Support the Customer in the resolution of field supportability issues.
  • Ensure repair tasks are completed to schedule and on budget.

This position will be primarily located at Pratt & Whitney site in Columbus Georgia.
Qualifications Demonstrated desire to expand design proficiency with excellent written and oral communication. Assertive and results-oriented with good problem solving skills.
Familiarity with Composites, Cases, Combustors and or Externals engine hardware is desired but not necessary.
Education BS in Engineering, plus 4 to 10 years of experience in a Mechanical or Aerospace Design function. Experienced in a program or project environment related to engine hardware design/development, aftermarket support, manufacturing processes, or other relevant engineering discipline.
