Description: Description Job Purpose: This data specialist role is within the data management group. The candidate will support the data profiling, standardization, cleansing, and migration efforts within the different areas of the business such as Asset Management, Work Management, and Customer Experience areas. In addition, the data specialist will be working in evaluating data efforts and helping the data driven decision making for different decision the data management will be faced during the Gas Business Enablement program such as creating standards, evaluating data effort trade-offs. In addition, this role will work cross-functionally on analytics-related modernization and solutioning projects to progress enterprise analytics, while ensuring data management best-practices are adhered to. Responsibilities • Perform data mining to identify data quality issues, root cause, and resolution based on data management best practices including process improvements • Periodically audit data to identify areas that require additional focus • Maintain and improve Gas Operations data dictionary • Maintain and improve Gas Operations data (technical and business) rules • Create, maintain, and improve the Gas Operations data quality metric dashboard reports • Lead effective data management controls while managing and complying with the Business Management System Data Management principles such as maintaining the proper documentation and review process for our reports. • Support the establishment of data policies and procedures • Continually work toward establishing single reporting repository to reduce data duplication and quality issues • Establish self-service analytic capabilities for business functions • Identify new data needs, providing expertise to business functions and IS to incorporate into existing reporting repository • Understand data flow and synchronization between systems and create and improve master data management • Work collaboratively with Data Stewards and Data Owners to ensure alignment on data quality and on data governance Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science/Math/Engineering/ • Minimum 2 years of direct experience with data analysis and data quality measurement such data profiling, data standardization & cleansing using Informatica Data Quality, and data migration • Experience in leading data standardization & cleansing efforts • Experience in creating and documenting data processes • Experience in creating conversion specs and reporting specs • Minimum 2 to 3 years of direct experience with self-service analytics tools • Strong knowledge and working experience in R or Python; ability to write and understand R & Python programming languages • Experience in Tableau • Ability to investigate anomalies and proactively problem solve • Able to work within a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities • Must be a fast learner and willing to learn independently • Able to exercise judgment as it relates to business decisions and their effects on
stakeholders • Strong time management skills to manage multiple priorities under time constraints • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal Preferred Qualifications: • Understanding of the Utilities industry • Experience in IDQ • Experience in Azure Job Dimensions: • Direct internal team, supervise & direct consultant activities, collaborate and lead business stakeholder and manage large scale projects.
