This individual will be responsible for recommending opportunities for improvement, assessing processes, facilitating implementation of quality and manufacturing initiatives. Will also be responsible for investigating customer returns to resolve issues and discuss corrective actions with our Operations, Process and Design Engineers. Drive corrective and preventive actions, from initiation to resolution of items. Collect and analyze data to track improvement. Position Summary: Creates software programs for use within company products and assists other departments in the deployment of those products. Designs, modifies, and implements software applications. Participates in the testing process through test review, code debugging and analysis. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for software application development. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Reports to the Software Engineering Manager or Software Project Lead. Scope/Supervision and Interaction: Works under the supervision of a Software Project Lead or the Software Engineering Manager. No supervisory responsibilities. Essential Functions: Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: -Provides technical input for the specification and creation of new products. -Uses technical expertise to create high quality software for use within CTC products. -Generates support documentation for all work. -Provides support, when necessary, to customers or internal CTC staff during product installation and testing. -Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing techniques, development of algorithms for digital filtering, FFTs and correlation. -Evaluation of algorithms using commercial tools like MATLAB/Simulink a plus. -Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: -BSCS, BSEE, MSCS or equivalent. -1-3 years of experience with software programming using C/C++ languages on PC platforms under DOS and/or Windows. -Windows application development experience using Microsoft Visual C++ MFC. -Communication skills sufficient to present technical information to customers and internal staff members. -Enthusiastic, results oriented personality with good interpersonal skills. -A desire to develop software products in a fast-paced, small team environment with a passion for robustness and quality.
