Description: Description About the Position: R esponsibilities include but are not limited to collecting and entering data in our Incident Management System (IMS), analyze Safety incident and injury data to provide relevant and up to date information to support the organization in managing safety decision making. Identify, design and implement process improvements in relation to incident/injury classification, tracking/trending and reporting database as well as maintaining accurate OSHA Recordkeeping records. SHE Performance and Reporting is energetic, fast-paced environment with high visibility across all functions of National Grid.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Analyze data extracts, mine data and create reports to identify trends. Assist in the use and monitoring of the online incident management system(s) to provide an effective, consistent approach to Safety performance reporting and improvement planning. Assist with periodic audits and training to ensure the highest quality of data and reports is maintained. Aid in creation and publication of monthly enterprise-wide Safety, Health and Environmental reporting at the US and Global level. Act as principal contact for the Business in areas of Safety performance analysis and reporting. Maintain and report regulatory information in order to ensure local, state and federal regulators and other stakeholders are kept up-to-date with relevant National Grid performance and policies. Monitor and review incident information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information. Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes for continuous improvement. Work closely with Field Safety, Health, Environmental and Operations to ensure the highest quality and accuracy of reports. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid.
Qualifications Knowledge and Experience Required: A Bachelor's degree in a business or engineering related area(s) and knowledge in electricity/gas operations. Utility safety experience or similar positions preferred. Highly proficient in report development data mining data analysis and presentation skills using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Detail oriented with appreciation for analytical accuracy. Good communication, writing and relationship-building skills. Strong ability to learn new software/analytical tools. Knowledge of specific US Safety regulatory data reporting and recordkeeping requirements (OSHA). Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle several projects simultaneously.
