Description: Description About the Position: The Senior Analyst will be the primary manager of a new customer online research panel at National Grid. This role will require not only building the panel, managing the community and the relationship with an external panel vendor, but also working internally across business functions to prioritize research topics, design surveys and analyse and disseminate learnings. Further, this analyst will be responsible for the long-term strategy of the panel, including its continued development and advancement in concert with the company’s evolution and customer-focus. This Analyst position is part of the Customer Insights team, whose purpose is to manage all ‘voice of the customer’ studies across National Grid as well as disseminate and share the customers’ voice throughout the organization to help drive meaningful and relevant improvements in the customers’ experience.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Build and manage customer panel (along with external partner) with responsibilities including panel recruitment and retention, strategic development and ongoing management of community, data management, timely creation of surveys and reports, and delivering results back to business functions. Network across the company, including regional jurisdictions, end-to-end processes and customer experience transformation groups, to identify and prioritize critical strategic and tactical topics for the community. Work with these internal groups to develop appropriate survey methods. Develop long-term strategic plan for panel to ensure it delivers optimum value, provides continual customer insight, and complements our evolving business strategies. Help develop a robust understanding of our customer by identifying customer’s wants and needs, energy insights, and reaction to potential new product offerings. Be able to define and articulate customer segments. Blend panel learnings with existing survey research to create complete customer profiles. Work closely with internal client teams to proactively recommend market research to help develop and continuously refine National Grid's business strategies and execution. Lead and manage the execution of market research - including customer (current & prospect), business partner, and employee research. Perform cross-tabs and basic statistical analysis. Ensure research data is accurate and analysis is thorough. Need to be able to explain changes or unexpected results. Regular updates and clear communication of research results across all levels of the company.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree with experience in customer panel management and market research. Master’s degree is a plus. 3-6+ years in a research, consulting or analyzing role utilizing customer survey data. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. SPSS, Tableau, and survey programming (Qualtrics) is a plus. Strong written and oral presentation skills; ability to clearly communicate complicated material in a concise and compelling manner that is relevant to audience. Ability to build trust, network and engage across the organization to develop a shared sense of ownership of outcomes and actions. Proficient in scoping research projects, identifying objectives, defining best strategies to reach those objectives, and designing optimum survey instruments. Solid understanding of best practice research concepts, quantitative and qualitative methods, and data governance. Advanced capability to track and analyze a wide range of customer research data, develop action plans, and identify impact on business. Experience effectively working with multiple internal and external clients and balancing the needs of each of them. Ability to work effectively on their own and work well under tight deadlines. Energetic and positive business leader with drive, ambition and strategic mind, always driven to generate breakthrough ideas and exceed results.
