Description: Description About the Position:
Gas Business Enablement Senior Financial Analyst, will focus primarily on modelling and reporting to provide insight and substantiate the multiyear Business Case. This role will be expected to interact with various team members for input to create budgets, forecasts, and analysis which will assist in supporting Program Strategy decisions. The Business Case model is the source for Annual Program Sanctioning. This role will report to the Manager of Finance Business Partnering, GBE and will provide dedicated support to the Gas Business Enablement Team through developing models, providing data analysis, and reporting and leading the Program Business Case from a forecasting, and budgeting perspective. This role will be required to work closely with the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Team to ensure adherence to corporate reporting requirements and deadlines, as well as working closely with the Portfolio Office & Business Design & Readiness Team to ensure that Value Framework Hierarchy is supported from a finance perspective.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Work with multiple functions to create and maintain a robust, detailed short and long term financial model which can adapt to changes required in an Agile Project Environment. Manage and maintain financial data to provide monthly updates and analysis of business performance. Responsible for analysis of the monthly financial performance, which will be utilized to provide insights to the GBE Leadership Team. Work within the GBE Finance Team to create and refine the Leadership Team Monthly Reporting Package. Partner closely with the Portfolio Office & Business Design & Readiness Team to provide updates to the GBE Business Case. Work closely with the Director and the Manager of Finance Business Partnering, GBE in submitting the annual budget and monthly forecasts to various departments of Corporate Finance. Effectively maintain, improving and creating financial models and performance reports focused on automation and creating simple, accurate, usable and easy to access reports. Work closely with GBE Team Members to gather and assess the impact of any changes to the forecast and financial decisions as a result of working in an Agile Project Environment. Lead in providing recommendations of approach to ensure the appropriate value drivers are factored in on finance related decisions Participates in special projects within GBE as needed. Ensures proper support to meet business requirements of financial controls.
Qualifications Knowledge and Experience: Financial modelling, planning and analysis Trending and reporting of financial performance Developing and managing budgeting and forecasting processes in a rapidly changing environment Accurate forecasting of financial targets and KPIs U.S. GAAP, SOX, SEC requirements and IFRS Project Accounting, a plus
Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred 3+ years in an accounting and/or finance role with increasing responsibility Demonstrated ability to drive performance, data and financial analysis Ability to apply business initiatives to modelling and analyse multiple scenarios Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities Excellent written / oral communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suit including Advanced Excel SAP and Business Intelligence Reporting preferred Background in utility service business activities and projects is preferred This position is one of National Grid’s career path roles which provide for promotional opportunities within and across salary bands as you develop and evolve in the position by gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
