As a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Naval Gas Turbine Module Design Team you will be responsible for design, approval, and oversite of electrical components and systems on the Naval GT Module products provided to the US Navy.

 

The scope of the role will include GT module electrical wiring and junction box design definition, creating generator system specification, oversite of generator supplier technical compliance, coordination with US Navy on electrical and electrical system requirements, and electrical component compliance. The role will include coordination with other electrical functions within the global Naval Team.

 

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, your key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Develop electrical system and subsystem designs, associated design documentation, system and component test plans and procedures
  • Conduct analyses, develop technical specifications, select key system components, and define electrical cabling and schematic diagrams
  • Support system detailed design and development through gated reviews, evaluate compliance to customer requirements, support configuration management, and assist in factory and shipboard installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing
  • Develop technical inputs for logistics analyses and technical support documentation and provide engineering technical support to customers, suppliers, and field service personnel
  • Support proposal development, conduct tradeoff analyses, develop engineering change proposals, prepare cost and resource estimates

Qualifications and experience
 

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 6+ years experience with design, development, or support of electrical system design, Or
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years experience with design, development, or support of electrical system design, Or
  • JD/PHD
  • Demonstrated experience with design or support of generators, motors, or similar electrical machinery
  • Sound working knowledge of electrical system function and integration
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship

 

Preferred:

  • Strong electrical engineering background and technical problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with requirement creation and management across electrical systems
  • Previous experience with ship mounted electrical systems and equipment
  • Experience with working with the US Navy
  • Familiarity with Naval Marine product applications
