Description: Description Job Duties: Supporting the Information System (IS) Asset Management (AM) and Vendor Billing (VB) function across the Global IS organization validating supplier spend and ensuring the optimum utilization of IS assets; Driving through the optimization opportunities to realize value and manage risks with vendors and third party technical auditors; Using Technical skillsets in software and hardware configurations and knowledge of software license metrics and conditions of use to interpret license installation and usage reporting to define requirements, compliance and optimization opportunities; Liaising between National Grid and the supplier organizations, supporting the relationship regarding the contracts, and enabling all communications take place effectively and efficiently; Ensuring that National Gird is aware of the terms and conditions of contracts as appropriate, and facilitating communications between suppliers and National Grid; Collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to monitor the suppliers’ performance against agreed service levels, publishing the results and working on actions based on results; Monitoring contracts and recommending actions, including the enforcement of any penalty clauses, to bring contract back into line or terminate them; Contributing to regular meetings to review performance and progress with major/strategic suppliers; Supporting the processes which ensure that appropriate records of IT assets are accurately maintained; Initiating, organizing and presenting sound information and advising on issues such as maintenance of hardware assets, licensing of software, and legal obligations such as compliance with the Date Protection Act; Analyzing infrastructures for keeping accurate records of and controlling IT assets and changes, carrying out tasks such as planning and managing the introduction of IT asset control, in liaison with the configuration management function, auditing and reviewing the effectiveness and efficiency of IT asset control and distribution; Promoting awareness of and commitment to IT asset control and distribution responsibilities and benefits for National Grid; and Assisting with the definition and operation of effective financial control and decision making processes, especially in the areas of service provision, projects and component cost models and the allocation and apportionment of all incurred IT costs, and implementing charges where appropriate. Qualifications Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent), plus three (3) years of related experience with Information System Asset Management, Vendor Billing function, Software Configuration & License Management, and Service Management/Service improvement utilizing Process Architecture (ITIL) and Project Management (PMP) processes for a multinational utility company; Three (3) years must include experience with SAP, Oracle Database (7/8/9i/10g/11g), Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, TOAD, Fusion Milddleware Technologies, HPSM, PL/SQL,UNIX , Flexera and SQL Server; and One (1) year must include experience with Microsoft Azure Administration. Occasional travel within the U.S. up to 6 trips per year and to the United Kingdom up to 1 trip per year. Background checks may apply.
