Risk Analyst (Experienced)

We are seeking a Risk Analyst to fill a Engineering Systems Integration position to support organizations within Sandia Labs to mitigate various high level, high impact risks \(such as Security, Safety, Cyber Security, etc\.\)\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Support the organization in implementing the Evaluating the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences

+ Identify innovative solutions to mitigate the risk

+ Communicate recommendations to management

+ Partner with the organization to develop risk mitigation/treatment plan

+ Develop risk management controls and contingency plans

+ Create risk waterfall to determine how effectively the risk is managed

+ Develop a mitigatation/treatment plan

+ Partner with organizations to design/update processes as needed to eliminate risks


+ Bachelor's degree in relevant STEM discipline plus eight or more years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in relevant STEM discipline plus five or more years of relevant experience; or doctorate in relevant STEM discipline; \(Relevant disciplines may include Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Systems, Quality Engineering Management, Production Engineering, or comparable discipline\)

+ Equivalent combination of relevant STEM education and experience\.


+ Writing and other work product samples will be required if interviewed\.

+ Demonstrates proven thorough knowledge of, and success conducting for internal customers, enterprise risk management program development including:

+ Certified in risk management \(ERMCP, CERM, CERA, CRM, PRM, or comparable risk management certification\)\.

+ Knowledge of risk related processes \(i\.e\. COSO, ISO 3100, etc\.\)\.

+ Monitoring and reporting risk, risk assessments and prioritizations

+ Assisting with facilitating the definition of an organization's risk appetite and tolerance in alignment with their organization's strategy

+ Designing sustainable risk management and compliance processes and structures, including governance and oversight, standards and processes, tools and technology, metrics and reporting\.

+ Assisting laboratory management with achieving a competitive advantage by managing risk and compliance in a streamlined manner and creating greater resilience to risk\.

+ Overseeing or monitoring operational risk management activities of the organization\.

+ Monitoring and analyzing risks within the company's business units and reporting on these risks to Sandias management, including executives\.

Department Description:

The Risk and Issues Management Department is responsible for the Risk and Issues Management processes and supporting tools stewardship for Sandia National Laboratories\. This department is also responsible for conducting high significant, high impact causal analysis, managing the Causal Analysis program, and conducting training on processes, tools, and methods related to Risk and Issues Management\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.
