UES, Inc. has an opportunity available for a Research Scientist focused in Aerospace Power and Thermal Subsystems to join our Aerospace Power & Propulsion division, working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The primary functions for this role will include modeling, simulation and analysis of design and performance of multi-disciplinary aircraft power and thermal systems. This research will focus on management of tactical aircraft power components and systems, to study performance enhancements by way of application of SOA technologies in numerical simulations with commercial software. Beginning responsibilities will include efforts in any of these areas: model development for power or thermal systems to facilitate analysis and design of future aircraft systems; system of system studies to assess and improve integrated system performance; and model based system engineering of aircraft subsystems.

Requirements

• PhD/MS/BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering is required. 
• Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical and thermal systems along with expertise in modeling power systems or thermal management systems is required. 
• Knowledge of numerical computation methods, optimization methods, simulation methods and proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ is desirable.
• This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
