Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented engineers to join our Engineering and Repair Source Approval (ESA and RSA) organization. This position is based in Dallas, TX.

The RSA organization is responsible for reviewing and approving a range of processes utilized in the repair of aftermarket hardware, including:

  • Coatings (e.g. plasma and thermal spray, PVD, diffusion)
  • Chemical Processes (e.g. stripping, plating, cleaning)
  • Joining Processes (e.g. welding, brazing)
  • Machining and Surface Finishing
  • Bearing Refurbishment
As an RSA engineer, you will be responsible for approving and supporting commercial and military programs to ensure supplier processes yield parts which meet the requirements of DER-approved technical data. This may include addressing various material and processing needs and gas turbine engine hardware and material evaluations. Specific tasks may include process review and monitoring, non-destructive inspection, destructive metallurgical testing and evaluation of engine hardware, pilot testing of chemical processes and property analysis. You will also document and analyze data/results, generate standard work, prepare reports, and generate standard work.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field required.
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in design, manufacturing and/or materials engineering in one or more of the following technology areas:
    • machining and surface finishing
    • bearing manufacturing/refurbishment
    • joining, chemical processing, and/or coatings
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen due to government program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering preferred. M.S.
  • Engineering is a bonus. Green belt and/or black belt certification and training is a plus.
  • Prior aftermarket experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney design and quality systems is desired.

Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering preferred. M.S.
