Pratt & Whitney West Palm Beach Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (WPB MRO) is the repair and overhaul organization for all Pratt & Whitney radial Auxiliary Power Units (APU) and in 2018 will add to its capability the repair of the Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine.

The WPB MRO Repair Engineer will provide Repair Engineering support to operational activities as engines progress through the MRO process to meet external and internal customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop operational work scopes per WPB MRO requirements in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 using customer specific work scopes, “As-received” induction results, existing service bulletins and available work scope planning guides.

  • Perform/manage appropriate troubleshooting to develop a recommendation for corrective action and resolution.

  • Develop and maintain Solumina process plans that reflect operational processes in accordance with approved technical data.

  • Participate in investigations of process turn-backs and escapes, Customer inquiries, etc. Provide the support necessary to complete the investigations in the management declared time table.

  • Generate shop finding reports highlighting primary findings, work performed, and providing listing of key parts conditions.

  • Identify tooling issues, develop recommended strategy for resolution and provide recommendations for tooling purchases. Notify the appropriate organization for technical requirements or purchasing activities.

  • Review of tech data in the form of Engine Manual (EM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) and Clean, Inspection and Repair Manual (CIR). Interpret technical information to support operational activities. Identify errors, omissions or ambiguities related to the interpretation of the technical data and generate action item requests for correction.

  • Develop SAP master data to support the defined configuration and part tracking for electronic kitting, external repair activities and internal repair activities.


Qualification: Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in gas turbine MRO activities
  • Interpretation of engine technical data manuals
  • Interpretation of tooling and engine drawings
  • Interpretation of non-complex electrical wiring schematics
  • Knowledge and understanding of typical engine instrumentation and control systems
  • MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working with SAP (software program to manage a corporation or business as a whole, across different departments)
  • Experience working with Solumina software package (manages work and quality processes)
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to a repair station
  • Knowledge of electrical measuring devices
  • Practical knowledge of dynamic component balancing

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant experience required.
  • MBA or MBA preferred.
  • Air Frame & Propulsion license, FAA repairmen’s certificate, a plus.
