We are seeking a R&D S&E, Systems Research and Analysis to join the NSE Integration Departments Product Realization Requirements Office \(PRRO\) as an expert in the development of requirements for the Defense Programs Business Process System \(DPBPS\)\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Work in teams \(with other PRRO, Division 2000, M&O Contractor and NNSA federal and contract participants\) and independently to conceive, develop, and execute the development of NSE\-wide requirements applicable to the NNSA community as a whole within the DPBPS to achieve the most effective and efficient Defense Programs Business Requirements System to transform and advance the NSE

+ Apply experienced technical, business and programmatic judgment using sound process and development methodologies and principles to recognize programmatic problems, shortcomings and opportunities, and formulate appropriate solutions to advance the DPBPS Program\.

+ Day to day aspects of the job include: cognizance of all DPBPS requirements content applicable to the NSE contractor community, NNSA federal community or both, working with the DPBPS Content Team to plan, program and execute the development of DPBPS content sets and help the Department/PRRO Manager and Content Group Lead formulate staff tasks, coordinate activities with the Support and Technology Groups to most efficiently drive continual improvement while supporting the DPBPS Federal Program

+ Manage multiple emerging priorities in a highly political environment

+ Utilize effective communication skills to articulate DPPBS Program content development status to SNL management and NNSA customers

Moderate travel is anticipated; flexibility exercised when possible


+ Bachelors degree and advanced degree \(Masters or PhD\) in a relevant STEM discipline; or Bachelors degree in a relevant STEM discipline plus 4 years relevant DOD/NNSA/NSE product realization experience in lieu of an advanced degree\.

+ Five years of relevant DOD/NNSA/NSE product realization experience

+ Experience in technical writing and editing

+ Active US DOE L Clearance with the ability to obtain a US DOE Q Clearance


+ Demonstrated accomplishments in guiding others through technical processes\.

+ Demonstrated experience in development of technical and/or business requirements

+ Demonstrated ability to elicit customer input, manage customer interactions, produce required deliverables \(urgently at times\), and otherwise meet customer expectations in a competent and professional manner

+ Experience in executing product realization activities per DPBPS requirements \(such as through SNLs Realize Product Procedures or RPSS\)

+ Familiarity with US Govt\. nuclear weapon policies and directives and their associated quality and/or process systems

+ Ability to self\-start, work independently, and exercise mature judgment with only broad direction

+ Familiarity with past/present NNSA and/or DOD nuclear weapon development and/or support programs

+ Established positive deferential relationships with NNSA HQ and field federal and contractor elements relevant to this posting

+ Familiarity with NNSA, DOE and US Govt\. nuclear weapon product realization and infrastructure practices and standards per the DPBPS

+ Experience in the application of ISO9000, Lean/Six Sigma and other continual improvement methodologies as a practitioner, auditor or facilitator

+ Experience delivering classroom instruction and/or group facilitation

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance to start\.

Position requires an active Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted L\-level security clearance or active clearance with another US government agency, e\.g\., DOD, to be considered for this position\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
