Job Title:R&D Systems Engineer-Strategic Weapon System (Experienced)

:

Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) has become a critical focus for DoD nuclear and conventional weapon programs, and for the associated interfaces within their Strategic Weapon System (SWS) enterprise. In addition, MBSE is also a key enabling discipline on NNSA-funded programs. The Advanced and Exploratory Systems Department is expanding its core team of MBSE modelers to support existing and future programs. The MBSE core team implements MBSE on the JTD program, on advanced development of sounding rockets. Additionally, the MBSE team develops advanced approaches within the field, including the extension of MBSE to fault tree analysis and the development of an environmental architecture to capture, manage, and navigate environments that must be endured or survived throughout the product lifecycle. In addition, the MBSE team supports the USN in their integration of MBSE capabilities across their SWS.

The successful candidate(s) will join in the development of SysML functional, physical, interface, and environmental models and will use these models together with project subsystem and component SME?s to inform associated V&V plans and requirements. Candidates will also apply sound modeling principals to representing both reliability and nuclear safety fault-tree diagrams in the MBSE tool(s). Candidates will also be expected to support integration of these approaches into the engineering infrastructure, through collaborative efforts with our Sandia partners, including 2214, 2215, and 8872.
