The Common/Adaptable Fuzing Department is seeking an Electrical Development and Systems Engineer to support development of unique Mk21 AFA configurations needed for flight and ground test activities\. The Electrical Development and Systems Engineer responsibilities include electrical testing of Mk21 AFAs and coordinating their integration into ground test qualification activities\. Key responsibilities include electrical acceptance testing, test result evaluation and verification activities\. Electrical Systems engineering responsibilities include defining and coordinating acceptance testing processes at KCNSC and maturation of the Product Specification, and MC Component functional and interface CDs\. This assignment also includes evaluation and definition of electrical interfaces associated with JTA and flight test activities\. Modest travel is required to support program office interactions and system integration activities\.

Specific Electrical Qualification Engineer Responsibilities:

+ Defining and performing AFA electrical testing of unique and WR configurations of the Mk21 AFA\.

+ Analysis and verification activities for electrical qualification and AFA hardware testing\.

+ Developing and maturing electrical acceptance testing processes and maturing the AFA Product Spec\.

+ Managing refinements and updates to MC Component interface and functional requirements documents\.


99. BS and MS in electrical engineering; bachelors degree in electrical engineering plus four years directly related experience may also be considered\.

99. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance\.


99. Electrical hardware or software design or test experience\.

99. Previous experience Nuclear Weapon System or Component Development\.

99. Experience with SNL processes in system qualification, design definition processes and configuration control\.

99. Motivated to work in broad electrical / systems and test engineering environment\.

99. Effective working in team working environment\.

99. Current and active DOE Q\-level security clearance\.

Department Description:

The Common/Adaptable Fuzing Department \(2341\) has program management and project leadership responsibilities for the development of technologies including radar and sensor based Nuclear Weapon \(NW\) fuzing applications\. 2341 has specific responsibility in the application of the Common/Adaptable Fuze capability in Air Force ICBM Weapon Systems\. Fuze technologies share strong synergy with W88 Alt and W78 LEP modernization programs\. These NW development programs are all engaged in robust development cycles which will progress through active flight test programs and production cycles over the next 5 years\. The Mk21 Fuze program is in Phase 3, full scale engineering development, and has strong funding support from SNL and the USAF for the near and long term\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
