Role Summary/Purpose
Provide leadership to the APU Repair Shop Quality organization in West Palm Beach, to meet requirements for quality, cost, and delivery. Work with regulatory authorities, customers, functional leaders, and internal staff to meet operational requirements. Provide guidance and direction with regards to quality systems and requirements consistent with changing business needs in full compliance of Policies and Procedures (FAA and PW) meeting the highest level of quality.
Manage day to day operations of hourly and salary QA staff in Final and Receiving Inspection, Quality Clinic, Quality Engineering.
Liaise with the local FAA office and airline QA organizations as required. Foster and maintain a cooperative relationship with key regulatory customers (FAA, EASA). Ensure alignment with core Aftermarket quality organization.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the use of ACE tools; implement change to support achievement of ACE goals.
Create a safe work environment by promoting a safety culture, driving EH&S improvements to reduce ergonomic and other injury risks on inspection processes.
Implement business strategies and manpower plans in support of long term growth.
Attract, develop and mentor diverse talent in Quality.


Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Manage all daily aspects of the Inspection department of the APU Repair Shop
- Lead the establishment and attainment of cell goals in quality, cost, schedule, compliance and safety.
- Facilitate the leadership team in strategic decision-making and problem solving.
- Provide effective communication across the cells. Provide leadership development and performance feedback to the supervisors, engineers, planners and shop floor employees..
- Review the organization, manpower, staffing and training relative to needs and funding. This does not only include performance, salary, and career appraisals for assigned personnel, but also hiring, retaining and developing new key quality talents.
- Maintain a constant understanding of the status of Production work, to ensure inspection resources are correctly allocated.
- Lead productivity projects to reduce cost and cycle time.
Qualifications - An understanding of FAA 14CFR145 and ISO 9001 Regulatory Agency requirements, P&W Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems as they to the Aftermarket.
- At least four years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing and/or Engineering in the aerospace industry. FAR 145 operations background is highly desirable.
-Previous supervisory experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead & motivate teams to achieve business goals. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an integrative team working style are desired.
- Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and external customers (FAA)
- Ability to make decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data.
- Computer competent, particularly in MS Office applications.
- Process and detail oriented, including strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Desired Characteristics
- Lean manufacturing/repair experience, ACE or Six Sigma training.
- Related turbine manufacturing or repair experience
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, oral and written.
- Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion.
Education Engineering Degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering required, MS or MBA highly desirable
