Position Summary:

Pentair is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to support multiple assembly and production operations for our Brookfield facility and Distribution Warehouse. In this role, the Quality Engineer willsupport all functions of the facilities and will be assigned direct responsibilities for elements of the Quality process as required by business needs. This position will lead and participate in process improvement projects and frequent root cause investigations to support customer first quality concerns. The position is based in Milwaukee, WI, and will be expected to travel less than 5% of time. This position is not initially supervisory, but the position may be assigned direct reports in the future. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute continuous improvement projects pertaining to the Quality Management System for Milwaukee area plant and related warehouses

  • Use standard quality concepts and tools to aid in the development, monitoring and improvement of product quality, manufacturing process and quality processes

  • Address customer complaint issues and determine the top quality issues for the plant

  • Lead cross functional Quality Improvement Teams to identify root causes of customer complaints and develop/implement countermeasures to address the issues

  • Evaluate process capability and apply appropriate statistical techniques and control methods to meet quality, performance and cost objectives

  • Apply appropriate tools to give feedback to operators and ensure control of key process and product characteristics

  • Support daily Gemba Walk by owning the Quality portion of assigned value streams and actively identifying/addressing daily manufacturing quality issues

  • Support quality metrics scorecard reporting and improvement efforts

  • Work with purchasing/supply chain to address supplier issues and improve supplier quality by using supplier quality metrics and data to prioritize projects

  • Support machine shop quality improvements

  • Help to improve robustness of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan quality processes across the plant

  • Lead Quality processes and requirements during any new product development (NPD) projects in assigned value streams

  • Reviewing PCO’s on assigned value streams and other duties as assigned


Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred, Math, or Statistics

  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience

  • American Society For Quality Engineer Certified Quality Engineer, Lean Training, DMAIC Black Belt/Green Belt/Problem Solving training, Professional Engineer/EIT preffered

  • Proven success in utilizing formal problem resolution tools (8D, DMAIC, etc.)

  • Experience in utilizing the AIAG core requirements (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC)

  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes (Supplier Quality, Lean Improvement techniques)

  • Data analysis skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing with social/interpersonal skills to successfully manage daily interactions with various team members in a manufacturing environment from shop floor to senior management

  • Strong computer analysis, math and statistical skills

  • Project planning
