The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall quality of products are in compliance with the standards set forth in the Aeon PEC Quality Control Manual, and in accordance with the requirements of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Section I, Section VIII Division 1, Code B31.1, the National Board Inspection Code, as well as the DOT, API, EPA, and OSHA requirements.


 

Essential Functions

 

  • Responsible for the preparation, issuance, and maintenance of the QC Manual

  • Reviews and approves design documents for code compliance and customer specifications

  • Creates and maintains all appropriate documents in the job files

  • Administers and implements the Quality Control Program in the shop and in the field

  • Assigns the National Board number to each vessel in sequential order at the time of hydro

  • Prepares and certifies the appropriate Manufacturer’s Data Report

  • Distribution of Manufacturer's Data Reports

  • Controls the use of the all ASME, National Board Symbol, and welder stamps to prevent loss or unauthorized use

  • Qualifies PQRs

  • Writes WPS and WPQ forms

  • Responsible for ensuring that Material Test Reports are reviewed and signed

  • Initiates the applicable NBIC Report Form and sign the applicable Certification before presenting it, together with all supporting documentation, to the Inspector for review and signature

  • Leads quality audits and reviews

  • Assumes overall responsibility for the performance of repairs and alterations and for originating the construction procedures necessary to direct the course of the work

  • Reviews sales orders and issues job numbers

  • Inspects materials and prepares reports

  • Reviews and accepts subcontractor controls, equipment and calibration records to assure Code compliance

  • Assures that the test instruments are calibrated appropriately and reviews records

  • Acts as a liaison with authorized inspectors

  • Inspects work both in shop and field

  • Other duties as required

 

Supervisory Responsibility

 

No direct reports but has the authority to oversee related employee work and use corrective action where needed

 

Work Environment

 

This position is conducted in an inside and outside office setting and may be subject to environmental conditions. Protection from temperature changes such as extreme heat and cold may be needed as well as wind and humidity. Activities may occur both inside and outside. Exposure to dangerous gases and hazardous chemicals may be possible. This position is subject to noise and vibration.

Requirements

Travel

Travel in the local area and outside the local area may be required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED

Five years’ experience in quality control management

Ability to read detailed engineering drawings and P&ID schematics

Extensive knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and other related codes

Computer knowledge

Excellent computer skills

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Active Driver’s License

Random DOT drug testing

Annual vision test
