We are seeking a S&E Project Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Manager to join the development team for the next generation secure transportation vehicle, the Mobile Guardian Transporter \(MGT\)\. The MGT project is in the Baseline Design Phase and is seeking highly motivated team members\. The selected individual will be a key member of the project management team and will lead planning, tracking, and reporting activities for the electrical system development effort\.

The responsibilities for the Electrical System Project Manager will include:

+ Utilize knowledge of engineering development to develop and maintain the schedule for the Electrical System development effort\.

+ Identify resources and manage the cost plan

+ Provide cost and schedule reporting and brief status to senior leadership

+ Track customer deliverables and implement corrective actions as necessary\.

+ Use engineering knowledge and project management tools and techniques to re\-forecast the development effort as necessary based on requirements, scope, schedule, or budget changes\.

+ Develop and defend change requests


+ Bachelors and Masters degree in relevant STEM discipline plus 5 or more years of project experience in technical, scientific and engineering \(S&E\), work scope project management\. If advanced degree is not in STEM, than a Bachelors degree in relevant STEM discipline and equivalent education and/or experience working within a technical \(S&E\) project, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to responsibilities of the position\.

+ Five years of experience in a project management role for an engineering development effort

+ Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across science and engineering disciplines, project controls and business disciplines\.

+ Ability to obtain PMP or equivalent certification within one year of hire into position\.


+ Experience in a project management role for a large\-scale product development program including developing and maintaining a project schedule through all project phases\.

+ Demonstrated effectiveness working in an environment with dynamic conditions, competing priorities, and firm deadlines\.

+ PMP Certification

Department Description:

The Transporter Systems Development department is responsible for executing the multi\-year development effort for the next generation transporter, the Mobile Guardian Transporter, from conceptual design to production\. The department works with multiple internal and external organizations as well as the NNSA customer to plan and successfully execute the program\. Members of the Transporter Systems Development department are responsible for providing the programmatic, technical, and system engineering leadership for all aspects of the multi\-disciplinary development effort\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance to start\.

Position requires an active Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted L\-level security clearance or active clearance with another US government agency, e\.g\., DOD, to be considered for this position\.
