This Business Unit's Supplier Designed Equipment (SDE) group is seeking a motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join the team in support of Pratt & Whitney military programs. The candidate will be responsible formanaging CAT 1 suppliers of electrical external components for various military supersonic propulsion systems, primarily F135 and advanced engines. Strong consideration is being placed on the candidate’s knowledge and experience with harnesses and ignition components.

The Electrical Project Engineer shall be responsible for:
  1. Leading electrical component redesign effort for an advanced engine demonstration program
  2. Supporting CIP task proposal work and task execution
  3. Leading hardware root cause investigations by generating and maintaining a fault tree and using a running action item list to drive closure of actions
  4. Developing and using project schedules to coordinate Integrated Product Development (IPD) team activities to achieve program milestones
  5. Executing class 1 engineering changes per Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Configuration Control Board (CCB) process as required
  6. Organizing reviews, compiling comments, and coordinating approvals (both internal & external to HS) of documents such as drawings, qualification test plans, test reports, and requirements documents
  7. Supporting and status Standard Work such as load evidence where applicable for review and approval by IPD lead, follow-up with owners to close activity pages, report on open/closed activity pages
  8. Coordinating with Customer Support and component supplier on delivery and disposition of returned hardware from flight test and service
  9. Supporting and ensuring implementation of various field sustainment and production readiness activities, including service limits, repairs, and uPPAP
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years’ Project Engineering experience preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Excellent communication and team management skills
  • Proficient in running Root Cause investigations (fault trees and action item management)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of UTAS and PW EC processes
Education Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required
