Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Engine Center Engineering organization in conjunction with the Compression Systems (CS) Engineering organization has exciting opportunities for Project Engineers interested in serving as its CS representative at P&W's Columbus Engine Center (CEC) overhaul facility in Columbus, GA. The CS organization is responsible for the design, development and support of high compressor section components for all of P&W's gas turbine engines. This engineer will provide CS on-site expertise at the CEC to support overhaul and maintenance of P&W's revolutionary PW1100G and PW1500G geared turbofan engine. This position will report to the Columbus Engine Center Engineering Manager and will provide direct support to CS Component Integrate Product Teams (CIPT) in East Hartford, Ct. Responsibilities will include: 1) Being an active member of the CEC engineering team which includes collecting and trending module hardware distress data during PW1100G maintenance activity. 2) Identify and communicate early distress modes and required improvements to CIPT leadership for task budgeting and approval 3) Be the CS Engineering hardware subject matter expert at the CEC and provide disposition for hardware outside manual limits and/or complete tasks to update engine manual limits based on field data and engineering analysis. 4) Support/Lead component durability/maintainability tasks and engine/hardware investigations as the on-site subject matter expert 5) Communicate with CEC customer and address/communicate their requests through the CIPT leadership. These positions are a key role within the CIPT as it provides a direct link with our fielded product and the customer. This position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to operate across a wide range of disciplines and management levels with both internal and external customers to ensure requirements and expectations are met. Must have a BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering discipline Advanced Engineering Degrees are a plus Basic Qualifications: Must have a BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering disciplineMust have a minimum of 7 years experience providing engineering support of development and/or production and overhaul efforts of gas turbine engine componentsMust have the ability to successfully operate in a remote-work arrangementMust be a US Citizen Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Compressor System preferredExperience working in an assembly and test environment desiredAdvanced Engineering Degrees are a plus PWRSR
Qualification: Must have a BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering discipline
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years experience providing engineering support of development and/or production and overhaul efforts of gas turbine engine components
  • Must have the ability to successfully operate in a remote-work arrangement
  • Must be a US Citizen

Education: Must have a BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering discipline
  • Advanced Engineering Degrees are a plus
