Description: Description About the Position : The ProgramManager is responsible for the operational efficiency and excellence of selectportfolios of work with the Electric Distribution processes. The Program Manager builds internal and external relationships to enablethe cost effective planning and delivery of Electric Distribution programs andprojects; as well as achieve overall portfolio performance targets in the New Englandjurisdictions. PositionResponsibilities (including but not limited to): Build and maintain a rolling two yearwork plan in Primavera 6. Manage current year work plan andimplement resource strategies to meet regulatory, budgetary, and jurisdictionalgoals for New England distribution portfolio. Promote teamwork and collaborationwithin Resource Planning and internal stakeholders including Maintenance & Construction, Scheduling, ComplexConstruction, Project Management, Distribution Design and Asset Management. Effectively support other ProgramManagers and PEX initiatives as required Track, report, and forecast projectfinancials and milestones each month. Keep internal and external departmentsinformed of project requirements and schedules using appropriate communicationmethods. Identify risks to project deliveryincluding major permit issues or restrictions, logistical problems, costconstraints or contractual problems and recommend appropriate action. Negotiate cost allocation and contractterms between municipal authorities, National Grid, and other utilities asappropriate to support the delivery of City/State projects. Prepare required documentation, forms,and reports relating to all activities between municipal authorities andNational Grid on assigned projects. Provide oversight to programs andprojects such as Distributed Generation, City/State, Inspection &Maintenance and Underground Programs.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree; Engineering orBusiness Management discipline preferred Project Management experiencepreferred. Proficient in project and workmanagement software. Familiar with distribution lineengineering. Design, permitting, construction, and closeout activities. Understanding of jurisdictionalprocess and regulations. Ability to prioritize and managemultiple projects and issues simultaneously. Strong communication, negotiation andinterpersonal skills. Demonstrate sound judgment toindependently solve problems and resolve conflicts. Ability to travel to the assigneddivision(s) as required.
