Description: Description About the Position:
To provide strategic support to Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance that results in innovative, effective and efficient data for short- and long-term decision making purposes.
Position Responsibilties (including but not limited to): Provide material support to the Vice President, Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance in regards to the development and implementation of electric asset management investment portfolio, delivery of budget, portfolio and strategic objectives. Utilize established financial systems to facilitate the annual budget planning process, track budgets and highlight variances in order to manage and control specific cost variables. Working with the Finance Business Partner and Department Heads, coordinate the development of Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance department annual budget. Monitor and control allocated human resources, the organizational structure, and maintaining financial and progress forecasting in order to ensure compliance with budgets. Work with the VP Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance to set and translate objectives into well-defined requirements with clearly defined business cases in order to support and manage change and innovation within the department. Produce and distribute the Capital Delivery Monthly Report from multiple sources. Update and prepare on a quarterly basis, the HR Certificate of Assurance on behalf of the Vice President, Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance. Serve as Coordinator for the Business Continuity Plan ensuring timely and accurate completion by the BCP Planners in accordance with guidance from Emergency Planning. Coordinate the development and implementation of the annual department Safety Plan across Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance. Prepare and provide Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance department statistics for the department Hub. Coordinate information sharing and learning opportunities within Electric Investment Strategy and Regulatory Compliance. Performs a wide variety of ad-hoc work on an as needed basis including but not limited to rate case data requests, development of departmental annual business objectives, and succession planning, etc.
Qualifications Knowledge and Experience Required: Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills including human resource management, negotiations and communications. Communicates to the people affected by a decision on what’s happening and is able to clearly articulate reasons for a decision, Ability to provide guidance and manage responsibilities/obligations at a senior management level. Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities; organized, detail oriented, able to make independent decisions with a high degree of confidence. Understanding of the operations of the electric business or the strong desire to learn. Demonstrates the ability to interpret information and analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation in order to clearly articulate the findings and anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead about next steps. Bachelor Degree in a field of Business or Engineering. 5 years’ experience in electric utility industry Understands policies and processes and demonstrates the ability to challenge existing processes and ways of working e.g. taking action to avoid future crisis or create opportunities to improve existing practices.
Capabilities: Strong analytic background. Proven ability to perform medium to complex analysis. Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of contracts and employee labor law. Knowledge of Company policies
