Description: Description About the Position: Direct the management of a number of global programs from initiation to completion that deliver business change and subsequent benefits. Achieved by leveraging the range of resources and experience across the full IS function whilst influencing key stakeholders to achieve successful delivery .
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Successfully shape and deliver a range of complex and challenging programs to deliver business value

Introduce and embed a culture of commercial rigor to the team

Ensure the rationale for all projects is underpinned by a strong business case which is transparent to the program sponsor within the business and maximizes National Grids investment in technology.
Ensure that the value of each program is evident using business models

Directing programs within a business function utilizing all available resources and relationships

Managing dependencies, risks, plans, costs and resourcing needs across multiple programs

Ensures that the Program offers a range of options and implements a change which achieves the objectives that have been set and that the business benefits are realized

Initiates formal reviews of the Program and its achievements

Engage and influence stakeholders

Introduce best practice program and project management principles and ensure these are adhered to. Operate as a role model for Valued Business Partner, championing similar behaviors across IS Job Dimensions:

Manage a number (5 - 8) of Program/Portfolio Managers, who in turn will have 5-8 direct reports. The organization is designed to flex with business demand. Delivery budget in the range of £30-80m/$50-$110m.

Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required:
Extensive experience at successfully delivering challenging and complex technology programs/ business change involving working with globally based employees and development partners
Has the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders at Director/EVP level.

Has proven leadership, relationship, communication and presentation skills

A good knowledge of the business and IS strategy and drivers.

Understands National Grids policies, management structures and reporting procedures for all aspects of the Program’s environment. Demonstrate the Valued Business Partner capabilities and behaviors in all interactions with IS Colleagues, vendors and business stakeholders.
Each role will be aligned to either Gas Distribution UK, Transmission UK, US Businesses, FSS&C or Infrastructure.
Qualifications Required:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant industry certification (e.g. Managing Successful Programs, Prince 2) desirable
