Description: Description About the Position: To provide theassurance that Performance Excellence Roadmap and Strategy is being deployed and sustained effectively. To transfercapability into the Leadership and Practitioner communities, in order to embedand sustain a performance excellence culture within and across functions,resulting in the delivery of continuous improvement, value creation forCustomers and the Company and engaged employees.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Coordinatea number of diagnostic and improvement initiatives to make a positive impactacross the function in support of the company end to end processes and functionbusiness plan. Bea trusted Performance Excellence advisor to senior leaders providing continualchallenge to drive Performance Excellence and therefore contributing to thefunction’s business/strategic plan. Effectivelymanage multiple stakeholders across the company to ensure smooth processimprovement implementations within and beyond functional boundaries tosuccessfully deliver quantified benefits. Activelysupport the Performance Excellence community of practice to ensure developmentof Performance Excellence standards, consistency, best practice sharing andsuccesses. Establishand maintain performance monitoring to show continuous improvement tied intothe hierarchy of Teams Hubs and champions escalations required to remove anyblockers in performance. Ensurethat the Performance Excellence Roadmap and Performance Excellence standards (TeamHubs, Work Place Audit, problem solving, etc.) are being effectively deployed. Deliver,as required by the Business Entity, Performance Excellence training for allclassroom courses (i.e. Practitioner, Operational Leadership, Master classesetc.) Understandthe customer needs and requirements of the Business Entity in orderto increase value for the Customer and the Company. Buildsustainable Performance Excellence behaviors and capability required of teammembers, supervisors, directors and managers through coaching and training upto skilled level across the whole Performance Excellence Practitioner tools andapproaches through mentoring and coaching of individuals. Ensureall employees capability is maintained within the function e.g. ensuring newemployees are trained appropriately.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Astrong understanding of Performance Excellence (or alternative Lean principles)and associated tools and techniques Theability to identify complex problems and challenges, analyze the root cause andidentify, test and implement appropriate solutions through utilization ofadvanced problem solving and lean skills ProjectManagement experience Experienceof leading change , especially around cultural change Theability to build good relationships at all levels across the business Theability to mentor, facilitate training , coachand develop others Theability to optimize and track the benefits of continuous improvement projects Knowledgeof existing Business Management Systems within the Business Entity would beadvantageous. Degree(or equivalent), or relevant experience BlackBelt in Six Sigma and / or Lean (desirable) e.g. Lean CompetencySystem 1bc / 2ab GreenBelt in Facilitative Leadership/Creative Problem Solving (desirable) TechnicalKnow How JobDimensions Supportup to 650 employees across the Business Entityin team problem solving and Value Stream Mapping leading to business and customer benefits Provideinterface with the Process Teams for managing project work to improve thecompany end to end processes ProvideMentoring, Training , Coaching and Capabilitybuild of Managers and their Team Members within the Business Entity up toSkilled level and Performance Excellence Specialists up to Advanced level Assurethe quality and consistency across the Business Entity in delivering andsustaining Performance Excellence Manage Lean PEx projects across the Business Entity andoccasionally take the lead role for cross functional projects when appropriate Thisposition is one of National Grid’s career path roles which provide forpromotional opportunities within and across salary bands as you develop andevolve in the position by gaining experience, expertise and acquiring andapplying technical skills.
