Description: Description About the position: The New Energy Solutions Center of Excellence (NES CoE) Director is responsible for leading a Center of Excellence that will capture learnings, best practices, and reference architectures from new energy solutions and latest technology trends. In addition to collecting this information, the COE will be responsible for to accelerating the adoption of new technology within the company.

The NES CoE Director ensures that the latest technology advancements that are applicable to National Grid and the Utilities industry and reviewed and adopted. The Director will oversee both technical and business staff to marshal mobile efforts and deliver long-term rewards to the company.

Job responsibilities including but not limited to: Review, evaluate, and approve mobility projects Provide technology expertise and leadership direction to the business authoring mobility best practices Facilitate NES training and technical support Offer thought leadership, consul on latest technology, and provide metrics reporting and support Demonstrate forward thinking to identify key trends, understand the business’ strategies and develop and deliver solutions and content that meet business needs and latest trends Identify, source, mine, and leverage external data to achieve identified outcomes Manage enhancements to the technology platforms by incorporating Battery technology, Solar, Intercommunications, Sensors, AMI, SmartGrids, IoT, and OpTel Collect and analyze information on internal and external attributes that are drivers of decision made broadly across operations, finance, technology, human resource, or other business Drive the vision, strategy, roadmap and implementation of performance indicators and supporting metrics and trends for Mobility solutions Seek out continuous improvement opportunities and provide input and recommendations Lead continuous improvement efforts Job Dimensions: Responsible for developing, implementing and managing company’s innovation and new energy solutions strategy Work with other business and IT stakeholders to enable their projects to succeed
Qualifications Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How: 8-10 years’ progressive experience in application development, programming, innovative technology, disruptive innovations for applications and strategy development Previous supervisory or leadership experience Experience in working in cross-functional teams Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at the senior leadership levels of a company Experience in managing complex technology Demonstrated strategic planning, managing and delivering customer-focused business solutions Demonstrated management skills, exemplary analytic capabilities Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related discipline with 5-8 years of practical experience (required). Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related discipline and relevant experience architecting complex solutions (preferred).
Knowledge & Technical Know-how:

High degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite Excellent writing proficiency, visual design, and presentation skills Excellent verbal communication skills Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills Prior experience managing New Energy Solutions implementations, upgrades, transitions Strong working knowledge of Battery technology, Solar, Intercommunications, Sensors, AMI, SmartGrids, IoT, and OpTel Experience leveraging critical thinking and exposure to change management principles National Grid is an equal opportunity employer that value s a broad diversity of talent, knowledge, experience and expertise.
