We are seeking a Network Engineers to support our DOE, NNSA, and DoD customers as we develop systems to protect critical facilities and assets\. Successful candidates will have a strong educational or professional background in network design, configuration and information assurance\.



Required:



1\. CCNA, Security\+ or CISSP certification



2\. Experience in configuring and deploying network equipment



3\. Requires bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience; or master's degree in relevant discipline plus two or more years experience; or doctorate in relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience\.



4\. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time



5\. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance



Desired:



1\. Experience in DoD information assurance certification process



2\. Active security clearance



3\. Ability to excel within a fast paced dynamic environment;



4\. Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment;



5\. Ability to participate equally well in a follower or leadership role;



6\. Experience in military based security analysis or technologies \(interior/exterior sensors, video, networks, data fusion, etc\.\) and / or experience with DoD applications of physical security;



7\. Demonstrated competence to interpret and develop sound system requirements from general and/or ambiguous guidance;



Department Description:



The Physical Security System Engineering Department, \(6515\) is a component of Sandia's Weapons & Force Protection Center\. Department 6515 is responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of complex physical security systems to protect critical DOE, NNSA, and DoD assets and defense capabilities\. The department provides project management and subject matter experts in the area of risk analysis, intrusion detection, video assessment, communications, entry control and Alarm Communication and Display, and response force planning\. These subject matter experts are developed internally with extensive hands on training and external educational opportunities\. Department employees have the ability to lead and/or participate as a subject matter expert in vulnerability/risk analysis studies, engineering studies, system design, Sensor and access control component testing, development, and integration of complex physical security systems \(PSS\) for DoD, DOE and other government agencies\. Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, and Civil Engineers primarily fill these roles\. This department is currently working with the DOE, NNSA, and the US Air Force to enhance the effectiveness of critical asset protection at CONUS/OCONUS installations through several multi\-million dollar initiatives\.

Security Clearance:



Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.



Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.
