In this role, the MPE (Materials & Processes Engineering) Commercial CIPT (Component Integrated Product Team) Deputy will work to strengthen Materials & Processes Engineering’s commercial engine program customer relationships and drive the organization toward continuous improvement in preparedness, delivery, and quality execution.

Through an emphasis on clear and complete communications, the MPE Commercial CIPT Deputy plays a significant role in promoting materials technology value to engine programs and enabling continuous support of MPE’s customers. As a main interface between MPE and the commercial engine programs (NGPF and legacy), the CIPT Deputy will assist in managing the MPE budget for program development, production, and component improvement tasks. This includes proactive engagement with Module Center CIPTs to meet their needs and ensure that MPE’s tasks are aligned and integrated with the program’s critical milestones.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • collecting technical/schedule/cost data from technical leads to enable monthly program reporting
  • coaching MPE project leads on project management skills
  • facilitating risk management plans to ensure on-time delivery
  • preparing plans with program leads for future activities
  • reporting monthly financials/EVMS
  • coordinating with MPE’s Commercial CIPT Lead, MPE’s Technology Manager, MPE’s Military CIPT Lead, MPEs SFDL, and MPE Business Development Manager
  • supporting Design Reviews
  • communicating with P&W Commercial Program Office, Chief Engineers, and P&W CIPT commercial customers

Qualification: 3 years technical experience in industry required, preferably with turbine engine experience.
Must be a highly motivated, proactive, self-directed worker.

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Validated project management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management.
  • Confirmed effectiveness as a detail-oriented individual that possesses the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Exhibited clear and concise communication, both verbal and written.
  • Proven as a team-oriented contributor that displays a positive attitude and works well with others.
  • Verified working knowledge of continuous improvement principles and tools.
  • Displayed EVMS skills.
  • Established proficiency with SAP and MSOffice products, particularly MSProject, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Education: BS in Engineering required.
Materials Engineering preferred.
Graduate degrees in Engineering and/or Project Management Institute Certification are a plus.
