Position Summary:

The Mechanical Project Engineer at Breeze-Eastern will perform all the coordinating activities needed for projects which require design, development, qualification, and certification. The Mechanical Project Engineer will lead an integrated product team to achieve project goals leading to production ready product which is cost effective, on schedule, and meets the customer’s contractual requirements.

Duties:

 Prepares, presents and updates project schedules to allow cognizant team members and senior management to follow project progress. 

 Works closely with functional departments to assure that all requirements are being addressed; recurring and non-recurring costs, adherence to schedule, safety, product functionality, and customer satisfaction. 

 Works courteously and resolutely with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals.

• Performs risk management and alerts senior management when concerns arise which could affect project cost, schedule, or system safety.

 Prepares project data deliverables.

 Develops requirements specifications for subcontracted components.

 Work both individually and as a leader and key contributor on project teams.

Required Education and Experience:

 B.S. degree (Mechanical/Electrical and or Aeronautical Engineering) and/or equivalent experience in the Military or Aerospace.

 Experienced in project engineering management and systems engineering activities in support of military or commercial marketplaces.

 Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, organizational, and project management skills. 

• Excellent problem solving and time management skills.

 Business and technical astuteness.

 Military or Aerospace experience in rotorcraft or helicopters

 Military/flight experience preferred

 3-4 years’ work experience or equivalent military experience
