The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Grove City College invites applications for one faculty position in either mechanical systems or thermal/fluids systems. The B.S.M.E. program is ABET-accredited and has an exceptional internship, job, and graduate school placement record. The program is growing and innovating—including a new robotics minor, design projects with close industry ties and a thriving student/faculty research program. The department seeks applicants that support its commitment to academic excellence, undergraduate teaching and research, hands-on engineering design, and advising within the context of a college community that values liberal arts education, the life of the Christian mind and service for the common good. Applicants with teaching experience as well as research and/or industry experience in contemporary and emerging fields such as robotics, mechatronics, biomedical engineering, human biomechanics, sustainability, energy, alternate energy systems, additive manufacturing, or materials are preferred.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field completed by August 2018. They must demonstrate proficiency in teaching undergraduates in both classroom and laboratory settings. Although undergraduate teaching is the primary focus at Grove City College, student/faculty research and other scholarly work—such as research in engineering education—is highly valued and applicants should have the ability and a plan to carry on research and/or other scholarly work as time permits. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Please send a current curriculum vitae, names and contact information of four references (three professional and one pastoral), and a letter of interest that includes an explanation of how your Christian faith represents a strong fit with Grove City College’s unique mission as a Christian college
