Universal Laser Systems Inc., is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for mechanical design, assembly and debug of prototypes, detail drawings and creation of documentation packages for production, component search and vendor interaction, equipment packaging, as well as assembly fixturing and manufacturing support.

 

 

  • Create mechanical, electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical designs of components and packaging for new products from conception through production
  • Design from solid modeling through to production prints utilizing Solidworks
  • Test and debug new mechanical, electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies

Requirements

  • Excellent problem solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas
  • Working knowledge of various manufacturing processes including machining and sheet metal forming and welding.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and plan effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Solidworks including sheet metal design tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient with multi-physics FEA

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering
