The Heat Exchanger Group at United Technologies Aerospace Systems – Engine & Environmental Control Systems is seeking an Associate Heat Exchanger Design Engineer.

The successful candidate will:
Use fundamentals of component mechanical design including Mechanics, Strength of Materials & Material Properties to size components and integral connections for the requirements of the internal/external customer of a plate/fin, shell/tube, flat plate or additive manufactured heat exchanger.

Qualifications Minimum Experience/Qualification/Requirements include:
- Candidate must be a US Person
- Ability to understand Finite Element Analysis tools
- Proficient in the use of PC based office software
- Work experience: 2 to 5 years


Preferred Experience / Qualifications include:
- Minimum of one prior internship preferred
- Experience with structural and mechanical design of plate fin heat exchangers or similar components is a plus
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, brazing, and welding techniques is a plus.
- Ability to manage parallel responsibilities and meet schedule commitments.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing definition and tolerances
- Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written form.
- Excellent English writing skills including the ability to write clear and thorough stress report
- Ability to understand code/script tools (Python, MatLab, VB, etc.)
Education

A BS, Bachelor of Science, degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Minimum GPA 3.0 required.
