Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking a highly motivated manufacturing engineering professional to Join our Hot Section Module Center ‘s manufacturing engineering organization. The manufacturing engineer will support cooled turbine airfoil parts manufacturing at Pratt & Whitney East Hartford, with interaction at our satellite facilities in New York and Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide focused & effective technical skills and leadership to support the development and incorporation of factory floor robotics and automation.
  • Develop and qualify automated Grinding, hole drill and debur processes for new and existing turbine airfoil designs
  • Accountability for CMM inspection, robotic and CNC programing
  • Drive quality improvement and cost savings projects for AGL processes including automation and robotics
  • Implementation of new capital equipment from specification and ordering through delivery, installation and release to production.
  • Create and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)
  • Eliminate EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues.
  • Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent scrap rework and repair.

Significant interaction with the hourly work force, tool designers, quality assurance, integrated product teams, systems designers, Information Systems, and program assembly partners are typical of the position.

A working-knowledge of the ACE Tools is desired including Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, QCPC/Root-Cause Analysis and Set-Up Reduction/Mistake-Proofing
