Responsible for the integrity and health of the Pratt & Whitney Technology Portfolio
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Technology Plans
    • Create and maintain on a daily basis scorecard and schedule of annual technology plan, including notification to participants of planned reviews and dry-runs;
    • Engage technology community to create, maintain, and execute plans;
    • Gather, update, and disseminate overall progress and status of technologies in technology portfolio; Create and disseminate monthly management report of technology portfolio status and issues;
    • Input technology turnbacks and executive root cause analysis and resolution;
    • Ensure technology process standard work is followed;
    • Maintain PW wiki Technology page, keeping content up-to-date and responding to questions about technology process
  • Technology Reviews
    • Run technology development reviews and coach technology community on proper presentation of content
    • Review and critique presentations ahead of actual review to assure quality;
    • Ensure all applicable review content is included, action items captured and assigned, and follow up with technology managers post-review to close on action items,
    • Ensure all technology process activities are accomplished in a timely manner
  • CTOTechnology Review
    • Oversee preparation and assembly of annual Chief Technology Officer review;
    • Responsible for creating presentation based on Engineering Executive Management narrative
    • Gathering data from disparate Engineering groups, including PWC; validate slide information and ensure consistency of messaging, flow, and visual aesthetics;
    • Support Chief Executive Officer review to align messaging and content as necessary
  • Innovation Challenges
  • Manage the creation, receipt, and critiquing of company-wide innovation challenges;
  • Formulate challenge guidelines and constraints based on direction from Engineering Executive Management;
  • Construct narrative of challenge for publication on mySite:
  • Review all entries, forwarding the most promising submittals to senior fellows and other company experts for consideration;
  • Gather additional detail and extract relevant technical information as necessary, manage questions and inquiries about the innovation challenge from employees
  • Additional Responsibilities

    • ITC - Review presentations for export compliance; Approve visitor requests; Approve travel requests; act as local expert on Export regulations
This position will report to the Senior Fellow, Advanced Technology and work in concert with a matrix staff in Advanced Programs & Technology
Qualifications The desired candidate will have experience with technology development activities, familiarity with government TRL & MRL criteria. Strong knowledge of P&W product configuration and nomenclature across all engineering technical disciplines
  • Strong Microsoft office tools including; Exceptional MS Excel skills, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Internet Explorer, MS Sharepoint
  • Working knowledge of technical leadership across all engineering disciplines and ability to communicate effectively across disciplines
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent project/workflow planning skills
  • P&W webmaster certification or equivalent experience


This position is open to US Citizens Only.

Education
BS degree in engineering, or technical field, (with appropriate technical background) and a minimum of 10 years’ experience working with aerospace technology
Less than 5% - local CT travel to UTC facilities for meeting support
