We currently have a full-time opening for a Manager, Manufacturing Engineering in Grand Prairie, Texas.  If you are looking for a fast paced environment where you can make a difference every day, then this is the opportunity for you!  This position is responsible for managing the Manufacturing Engineering Department.  The Manager works as a key interface with Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Quality management to provide and manage resources for New Product Development, assembly and manufacturing technologies.  Will also work with management at other manufacturing sites to provide engineering support, as well as Supply Chain and Quality in supplier selection, management and development.


Your day will be very busy… you will:

  • Be responsible for hiring, managing, and developing a high performing Manufacturing Engineering staff.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Manufacturing Operations and Director of Engineering, establishes, implements, and monitors group objectives by determining organization, setting priorities, and assigning responsibilities. 
  • Ensure proper manufacturing and validation practices are followed by applying appropriate techniques, within scope of QSR and ISO regulations. 
  • Establish and control department budget.
  • Provide leadership and resources for project coordination in the conception, design and detailing of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, processes and equipment for new products, prototype fabrication and testing.
  • Review design requirements to determine accuracy of information relating to manufacturability
  • Work closely with Marketing, New Product Development and Quality Engineering departments to resolve potential issues during new product launch and customer complaints
  • Organize in-depth product and process failure investigations to determine root causes of failures and to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist with outside manufacturer selection, evaluation and communication.
  • Provide support in the establishment and maintenance of suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain product and/or process documentation.

What your background will be:

  • BS in Engineering or other technical area. MS in related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project leadership and management of a technical staff.
  • Possess technical knowledge, analytical skills and business understanding to properly assess project objectives in relation to company objectives.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering specification, sketches and technical procedures and engineer drawings per ANSI 14.5. 
  • Ability to use (or direct the use of) prototype shop tools and machinery to produce and test prototype parts. 
  • Packaging knowledge.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 20% of the time
