The Department Manager of Corporate Quality Management will report to the Senior Manager of Quality Systems and Policy Management Group. Under the department manager?s leadership, the department will serve as the steward and gatekeeper of the corporation's policy management system. The department manager will be expected to:

+ Ensure the quality of corporate policies and processes based upon both internal and external requirements
+ Manage the Corporate Policy System (CPS) and Corporate Acronym and Dictionary Manager, including counsel and assist employees and management on all policy management functions stemming from laws, rules, regulations, policies, and internal executive decision, investigate relevant industry standards and benchmarks for continual improvement of processes and products, manages corporate-wide assessments and evaluations of policy management functions and determine proper corrective and preventive actions, and apply quality concepts to the development, integration, and implementation of policies, processes, procedures, metrics, tools, and techniques to ensure consistency throughout the corporate policy system.
+ Manage and oversee members of the workforce within the department, including recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition and disciplinary actions
+ Ensure that customer needs are satisfied by managing and coordinating specific deliverables, overall program and project plans, budgets, structures, schedules, and staffing requirements.

Required:



+ Bachelor?s degree in Business Management, Technical Writing Management Systems, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Systems, or related discipline plus 8 years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience (Master's degree plus 4 years, or a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience required to qualify without a relevant degree)
+ 2 years of management or leadership experience.

Desired:

+ Experience delivering cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives while maintaining safe, secure operations
+ Familiarity with the Corporate Policy System and the Sandia National Laboratories prime contractChange-agent with focus on increasing the value of the corproate systems to staff and management
+ Prior management or formal team leadership experience that required critical thinking to overcome ambiguity to set long-term strategic intentions
+ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including audience awareness
+ Experience applying innovative approaches to the integration of functions across a corporate organization
+ Financial and business savvy coupled with the ability to analyze metrics
+ Confident ability to prioritize projects and make quick, sound decisions
+ Proven ability to collaborate with business and technical functions, and assume responsibility for resolving complex issues
+ Ability to communicate a compelling purpose, drive change cross-organizationally, and inspire and motivate people
+ Integrative thinker with demonstrated ability to solve complex, multi-faceted problems with due consideration for business and strategic consequences
+ Willingness and ability to drive continuous improvement in support of safety, security, quality, delivery, and cost initiatives

Security Clearance:


Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications.
