Pratt & Whitney Engine Systems Engineering & Validation (SE-V), is responsible for development of military and commercial jet engines at multiple test facilities. The Instrumentation cell within SE-V supports all aspects of instrumentation through assembly and test execution.

SE-V Instrumentation is looking for a West Palm Beach Sensor Engineering Supervisor to support all Pratt & Whitney military, commercial and industrial development engine programs. Sensor Engineers design and oversee execution of all applied instrumentation tasks for test engines in three major areas: Instrumentation Planning and Egress Design, Sensor Applications and Assembly Support, and Engine Instrumentation Dress and Termination. Sensor Engineers are an integral part of the Engine Integrated Product Teams and must be able to handle rapidly changing requirements in a fast paced development atmosphere.

Responsibilities of this position include:
  • Manage WPB based team for PW Sensor Engineering
  • Foster the learning and professional development of sensor engineers
  • Planning and scheduling work to align with engine build L3 schedule requirements
  • Allocation of resources to support engine build and test priorities
  • Interface with internal and external validation customers
  • Work with department discipline chief to identify improvements to Engineering Standard Work
  • Use of ACE to identify opportunities to improve the tools, methods and processes used by all MSE Sensor Engineers.
  • Drive efforts to increaseefficiency and minimize waste in organizational processes
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 6+ years experience, preferably with Sensor Applications or other instrumentation plus the following:
    • Leading and motivating an engineering team working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and
    • Managing multiple, simultaneous tasks and priorities across organizational boundaries
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including MS Project
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree
  • Experience in development of gas turbine engines and engine part repair validation processes

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 6+ years experience
Advanced Degree preferred
